Why Are We Asking These Questions Specifically? 

Here's Why

The Office of Minority Business Development and the Office of Community Wealth Building has launched an initiative to find out how many businesses are owned and operated by individuals of color in Richmond, Virginia. We will be updating our database over the next several months.


What might this mean for you?

Traditionally, we understand that minority businesses have experienced barriers to securing capital funding and loans--among other opportunities and resources. For some business owners, the new COVID-19 environment has amplified these disparities, leaving many of them without support.

We want to help close this gap. 

When you answer questions about your business, we will use that information to improve our supportive business services and programs. We also are committed to ensuring that resources are allocated to minority businesses in our community who need it the most.

Record Keeping

We will collect information about your business needs, products and services. Next, we will use that data to think through how we can improve our programs and how we can better allocate resources.
